AGE: 83 • Lanoka Harbor
James C. O'Donnell, 83, of Lanoka Harbor, NJ, passed away on August 29, 2016 surrounded by his family and friends. "OD" was a graduate of the University of Florida & proudly served his country in the US Army. He had a varied career as a teacher, coach, many summers as a lifeguard in Seaside Heights & a businessman. "OD" was a legendary figure in Seaside Heights where he owned & managed well-known drinking establishments including the Diver's Bell, Good Time Charlie's & Fat City. He also owned and managed the Jersey Devil in Tuckerton.
He was predeceased by his parents Neil & Noreen O'Donnell. He is survived by his 3 children Meghan, Kathleen & Ryan & a grandson C.J.
Jimmy OD will always be remembered for his fun-loving personality, Irish wit & his willingness to help a friend. We raise our glasses to his memory & to a man who lived an extraordinary life.

I am so sad. I loved OD. I was his boss on the boardwalk at the information booth in the 2000's. Mayor Hershey told me I had to hire Jimmy O'Donnell! He came to work each day and when I would come in, he would stand up at attention and salute as if it was the army. He was a riot. He told me all about Seaside Heights back in the day and stories about my father. I just saw him at the St. Patrick's parade in March 2016. God Bless and Rest In Peace.
