Pamela Lea Chappell , 64 , of Wall , left us on Oct 14, 2016 , at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, after a long and hard fought battle with complications from cancer. Pam was born in Long Branch , and was a lifelong Monmouth County resident .

She graduated from Wilson School , Neptune City ,(1966), Neptune High School ,(1970)and attended St Francis College , Loretto , PA. Two of her avocations were certified massage therapist and licensed nail technician .Pam had a long career of service : as an operator , then business rep for NJ Bell , Then Verizon , retiring in 1987. She was Director of Consituent Services for former Assemblyman Steve Corodemus , for nine years . She served in several capacities for Monmouth County : as Right to Know Cordinator for the Health Department , in the Environmental section of The Planning Board , and as Admin Assistant to the late freeholder Tom Powers , and most recently , as Admin Assistant for Freeholder Lillian Burry, and secretary to the County Construction Board of Appeals .

Pam was an excellent writer , and would write an ad , article , press release or speech with the best of them . A lifelong Republican , Pam donated thousands of volunteer hours for the Monmouth County GOP , and was a member of the Monmouth Federation of Republican Women, The Affiliated Republican Club , and the Neptune City and Wall GOP clubs , over 30 years. She had been an active member of Memorial United Methodist Church for many years. Pam was a voracious reader , and enjoyed sewing , gemology , gardening , and loved the many dogs and cats she cared for over the years. Her loyalty , kindness , friendship , selflessness , and good humor will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her .

Pam was predeceased by her mother , Cecelia Chappell , in 1968, her father , Pete Chappell , in 1990, her dear stepmother Hannah Carnright Chappell , and her beloved Fiance , Thomas Edwards , in 2007.Surviving are her beloved son , Jonathan Shaw (Ashley ) ,Lancaster ,S.C., her devoted sisters Gerri Popkin ( Jim Giannell), Red Bank , Joanne Carnright Neiderhoffer ( the late Harold ), Shrewsbury , her beloved granddaughter Hannah Shaw ,Charlotte ,N.C. grandson Cameron Lee Shaw, Lancaster S.C. and step grandchildren Liz , Madison and Ian of Lancaster S.C. Also surviving are her dear nephews Dave Popkin ( Cindy Tirrell), Nutley, Mike Popkin (Keri), Forked River and niece Jamie Stokes (Mike) and their children Madison and Jack Stokes ,Alpharetta ,GA. She also leaves behind her many dear and faithful friends , colleagues and co-workers .

The family wishes to Thank the many doctors , nurses , staffs , and caregivers at JSUMC , Riverview Medical Center and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and Manor by The Sea, Ocean Grove , for all their help and Kindness , with special Thanks to Dr Angelo Chinnici , nurses Donald and Leslie , and all Pam's friends former classmates ,Co-Workers , bosses and colleagues , for their concern ,visits , kindness and assistance , throughout our long journey.

Visitation will be held at Thompson Memorial Home 310 Broad St., Red Bank from 4-8pm on Tuesday , A funeral service will be held on Wednesday 11am at the funeral home , Burial services will be private .In Lieu of flowers donations to the Monmouth County Friends of the parks , Box 686, Lincroft ,NJ 07738 ,The Monmouth County SPCA , 260 Wall St Eatontown , or a charity of your choice in Pam's name would be appreciated.
