Blanche Bostrom
AGE: 87 • Holmdel
Blanche Bostrom, of Holmdel, passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 with her family by her side. Blanche was born in Brooklyn, NY to William and Ophelia Fernandes. She lived in Holmdel for over 50 years where she raised her family with her husband, Harry.
During that time, Blanche volunteered with many organizations. She was a Girl Scout leader and worked closely with the Monmouth County Girl Scout organization. She volunteered with the Holmdel Youth Athletic Association where she was instrumental in promoting new programs, especially for girls. She served for many years on the Holmdel Recreation Commission, several as its' Chairperson.
Out of her love for exploring new destinations and the arts, Blanche started Theater, Travel, Tours, LLC, a group travel company. She enjoyed accompanying her groups to the many places they visited, near and far, and passionately shared her experiences.
Blanche was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend and a savvy professional. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Blanche was predeceased by her parents, William and Ophelia, and her husband of 54 years, Harry. She is survived by her daughter, Laura and her husband Stuart Agin of Lincroft; her grandchildren, Joanna and Andrew; and her daughter Lisa Bostrom.
