Dorothy M. Bergquist
Brick - Dorothy M. Bergquist, age 82, of Brick Township died Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Ocean Medical Center. Dorothy was born in Long Branch and had lived in Point Pleasant before moving to Brick Township in 2012. She had been a receptionist at Continental Insurance Co. in Neptune for several years before her retirement. She had also worked as a receptionist for Dr. Burkett of West Long Branch. Dorothy was also a volunteer with Visiting Nurses Association.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Nils Richard Bergquist in 2007, her son Scott Lawrence Bergquist in 1988, and two brothers Stephen and Chet Robinson. She is survived by two sons, Nils and his wife Donna of Brick, and Doug and his wife Robin of Point Pleasant; one daughter Lisa LaMere and her husband David of Brick; one sister Mildred Bruder of Missouri; 9 Grandchildren: Tiffany, Douglas, Kris, Daniel, Anastasia, Natalie, Monica, Cory and Amy and 3 Great-Grandchildren: Brayden, Jack and Casey. Dorothy is also survived by her sister in law Kathy Robinson of Middletown.
The family will receive relatives and friends for a viewing on Friday, February 9, 2018, from 4PM - 8PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Highway 88, Brick. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, 10 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle, NJ. To the Bergquist Family: So sorry to learn of Dot's passing. We worked together at the VNA some years ago and I always thought she was such a lovely lady and it was very pleasant to spend time with her. My condolences to everyone.
