Raymond Salani Obituary
Oakhurst - Dr. Raymond J. Salani, 86, of Oakhurst, passed away at peace in the loving arms of his wife.
He was born in 1932 in the Bronx to the late Guido and Nella (nee Raffaella) Salani. Raymond grew up in New York, where he met the love of his life at the age of 13. He was a brilliant man, and graduated #1 in his class at CCNY and also #1 in his class when he graduated from dental school, all while raising his first two children. He was a member of the Dental Society. Raymond had many hobbies, he was Mr. Fix it, he loved to work on cars and around the house, building his own 20x40 swimming pool, and even after retirement, never sat around idle. Raymond went back to school upon retirement and received his Mortgage Broker's license. He was a parishioner at St. Leo's in Lincroft for 40 years while residing there. Raymond was a father figure to more people than just his children, he served as a little league coach for many years. Most of all, Raymond loved his family.
He is predeceased by his two brothers: Maurice Salani, and Chris Graham (Salani).
Surviving are his wife of 64 years: Theresa (nee DiPersio) Salani; his four children: Raymond Jr. and his wife Lauren Salani of Morganville, Guy Michael and his wife Lynne Salani of May's Landing, Joseph and his wife Becca Salani of Northfield, and Theresa and her husband Brian McLean of Oceanport; and nine grandchildren: Melicent, Guy Jr., Jody, Raymond III, Alexandra, Dylan, Abigail, Nico, and Dani.
A visitation will be held at John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank from 4-8pm on Tuesday, June 19th, with a funeral home service at 7:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Raymond's name to the Kortney Rose Foundation, 41 Summerfield Avenue, Oceanport, NJ 07757 (thekortneyrosefoundation.org/donate/)

He was a dedicated and family oriented husband and father...Very warm and caring. He always wanted to make sure everyone was having fun and loved anything having to do with sports! He took pride in everything he did, and I can remember the building of the pool at the home in Lincroft. My sincere condolences go out to the family , you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

MY FAVORITE COACH OF ALL TIME. COACH SALANI MADE ME THE BEST PLAYER I COULD BE. ALL WHILE HAVING FUN AND MAKING SURE EVERYONE ON THE TEAM PLAYED. WE WON THREE CHAMPIONSHIPS WITH HIM AS OUR LEADER. I AM SO GRATEFUL TO HAVE KNOWN AND PLAYED FOR SUCH A PURPOSEFUL MAN.
