Clinton Wheeler Obituary
Long Branch - Clinton Wheeler Sr., 59 of Long Branch, departed this life on Thursday February 14, 2019 in Middletown. Clinton was an outstanding athlete who excelled in basketball. After graduating from college, he briefly played for the CBA where he was coached by the legendary Phil Jackson. He was drafted into the NBA in 1987 where he played for the Indiana Pacers, Miami Heat and Portland Trail Blazers. Clinton was also inducted into the Long Branch Hall of Fame. Visitation will be Friday February 22, 2019 at Second Baptist Church, 93 Liberty St., Long Branch at 11:00 am until funeral service at 12:00 pm. It saddens me to hear the news of Clinton's death. I saw him play the four years in Germany at Bayer 04 Leverkusen and we owe him four championships and three cup wins. Clinton Wheeler, may God protect you, we will miss you very much. R.I.P Clinton......:-(

Played against him in college and in the Jersey Shore League. He was a great talent and a real gentleman. So sorry to hear of his passing. RIP Clinton.

SUCH A COURAGEOUS YOUNG MAN. HE WAS A GREAT LONG BRANCH ICON. SUCH AN AWESOME ATHLETE AND REAL GOOD PERSON. HE MADE YOU REALLY WANT TO GET BETTER IN THE GAME OF BASKETBALL. HE WOULD REALLY EMBARRASS YOU ON THE BASKETBALL COURT WHICH ONLY MADE YOU GET BETTER AT THE GAME AND REALLY WORK HARD TO TRY AND REACH HIS LEVEL OF DOMINANCE.
