Andrew (Tony) Vega Obituary

Andrew Anthony Vega, or Tony, as everyone knew him, age 76 of Marysville, CA, passed away June 28, 2015 at Sutter Roseville Hospital in Roseville, CA after a long battle with cancer. Tony was born to Dr. Santiago Vega Villavicencio and Mariana Garcia de Vega in Managua, Nicaragua on June 15, 1939 and has been a long time Yuba-Sutter resident.

Tony came to the United States as a young man of 17 and enlisted in the United States Air Force. After the Air Force, he went to work for PG&E where he worked for 45 years until his retirement at age 72. Tony was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, a member of the Sacramento Polka Booster's Club and involved in many community charities and organizations throughout the years.

Tony is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Maria Vega of Marysville; sons, Andrew Vega II of Marysville, Alan Vega of Marysville; daughters, Angie Hoggard (son-in- law Bill) of Vacaville, Andrea Singh (son-in- law Paul) of Live Oak, CA and Anna Marie Campodonico (son-in- law Gregg) of Turlock, CA; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Santiago and Mariana Vega; his brothers Santiago, Ricardo, Adolfo and Enrique Vega.

Services will be held at Ullrey Memorial Chapel on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. Reception will follow at the Moose Lodge. There will be a private burial at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery at a later date.
