October 29, 1937 - May 12, 2017

Bill passed away in his sleep on May 12, 2017 at the age of 79 in Marysville, California. He was born the fourth of five children in Maple, Oklahoma to Hugh Frank and Beulah Arizona Houser. He lived in Sallisaw until the age of ten, when the family moved to Olivehurst, California. He was the last surviving sibling, having been preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bruce and Charles (Bud), and sisters Virginia Carter and Marybell Gomes.

Bill attended Marysville High School, followed by 5 years in the Navy. He enjoyed his Navy experience traveling to ports in the South Pacific. After leaving the Navy, Bill married Nancy Rice. During their marriage he worked for the U.S. Forest Service, Soper Wheeler, U.C. Field Station, Richard's Ranch, and drove a bus for the Marysville School District.

He later married Rosemary Buschman. They lived in Lovelock, Nevada and Afton, Wyoming. He was a long haul truck driver for Fundus Trucking.

Bill had many interests throughout his life. He enjoyed bottle digging, gun collecting, spending time at the ocean, fishing, and his favorite hobby of all - trading. He was a member of Sierra Muzzle Loaders and the Brushy Creek Rangers, where he enjoyed participating in black powder events including rendezvous.

He is survived by his 7 children, Scott Houser (Dawn), Eric Houser (Lisa), Ivan Houser (Sarah), Cheryl Knolle (Rick), Rebecca Cofer (Brian), Frank Houser, Rachel Houser, 18 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Lakeside Colonial Chapel, 830 D Steet, Marysville, California at 1:00 p.m. on June 10, 2017.
