Carolyn Anita Childers Obituary

Carolyn Anita Childers, 81, of Yuba City, CA, passed away November 10, 2017. Born February 10, 1936, to Karl and Ada Weber, in Yuba City, CA. Carolyn was a lifelong resident of Yuba City, attending Yuba City High School, graduating in 1954.

She was a member of Native Daughter of the Golden West #226 of Sutter, CA, for over 59 years, where she held many of the officer's positions including President, Past President and Secretary. Later, she joined the Past President of NDGW and becoming State Grand President of the Past President Association, she was able to travel through-out California visiting all the Parlors. She worked for the Sutter County Election Board at the polling facilities for many years.

While her children were growing up she volunteered her time with the Tierra Buena School, PTA, Boy Scouts of America Troop #3, Sutter Buttes Little League Camp Fire Girls of America and the Yuba Sutter 4-H.

She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church of Marysville, CA, where she served on the Altar Guild and helped with their food bank ministry.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Merlin "Jack" Childers; son, Leslie "Les" Childers; brothers, Merle Weber and Don Weber;
all of Yuba City, CA.

Carolyn is survived by her sons, Keith Childers, Yuba City, CA; Doug (Karla) Childers of Meridian, CA; daughter, Kathy (Noel) Grove of Live Oak, CA.; sister, Marilyn (Reg) Huggins of Walnut, CA; and brother, Karl A. Weber of Phoenix, AZ; 24 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, from 4-7pm. Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2017, 11am at Ullery's Memorial Chapel, Yuba City, CA. Interment will be at Sutter Cemetery, Sutter, CA.

A reception will follow at The Native Daughters Hall 7393 Lyon St, Sutter, CA.
