Cecil Atondo Sr. Obituary

Cecil Atondo Sr., of Yuba City, CA, passed away on October 28, 2015. A resident of the Yuba-Sutter area for 29 years, he was born on November 17, 1924 in Calipatria, CA. Cecil retired from PG&E as a foreman.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy E. Atondo of Yuba City; son, Phillip A. Atondo of Lindhurst; daughter, Jennifer K. Burgos of Yuba City; son, Daniel S. Atondo of Roseville; son, Cecil Atondo Jr. of Yuba City; sisters Mary A. Fuentes and Esther Beltran both of Sunnyvale; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by his parents - Angelo and Maria Atondo; brothers, Angelo Atondo, Arthur Atondo and Ernest Atondo; sisters, Lupe Grey, Katie Sotelo and Angie Ozuna.

Cecil belonged to the VFW, American Legion, Mexican Ancestry and Honor Guard.

He was a WWII Army Veteran, Army National Guard, Army Reserves, retired after 35 years as an Army Command Sgt. Major. Viewing will be November 5, 2015 at 9:00 am followed by services at 10:00 am at the Chapel of the Twin Cities in Yuba City.

Burial will be held at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Sutter North Hospice and/or the Wounded Warriors Project.
