Charles L. (C.L.) Kersey Obituary

Charles L. (C.L.) Kersey, 83, of Marysville, CA, passed away on February 7, 2014. Born April 20, 1930 in Weeks, Arkansas. A resident of the Yuba- Sutter area for 5 years. He was a Pressman for Sacramento Bee for 30 years.

Charles was a PFC in the U.S. Army, was a Veteran of the Korean War, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.

He was a member of V.F.W.

Survivors include his former wife, Wanda Young; daughters Toya White (Dan), and Sharon Kersey; son Mica Kersey (Yavette); grandchildren Jonah and Meagan White, Craig Kersey (Tayler), Christa and Katherine Kersey, Travis Martinez, and Zack Bascom; great- grandchildren Isaiah Martinez and Payton Armenta; his sister Verniece Bergstrom; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Vera Kersey, and his grandparents Charles and Willie Kersey.

A Memorial service will be held Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, with Pastor Mark Standridge officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warriers Project.
