Charles Robert (Bob) Skelton Obituary

Charles Robert (Bob) Skelton, 79 years young of age of Salmon, 1D and Meridian, CA passed away peacefully in Salmon surrounded by his wife Elena, mother-in-law Elena Barron, Salmon Valley Hospice and Hospice of Salmon caregivers. Private services will be held at a later date.

Bob was born in Wiconisco, PA to the late Charles D. and Anna E. Skelton on March 26, 1936 in 1953. Upon his graduation, he and his family moved to Bakersfield, CA.

A stroke of Bob's luck landed him a job with Southern Pacific Railroad. His career lasted for 39 years until his retirement in 1994.

In 1958, he married Shirley Brown and they had two sons, Brian K. Skelton and Stuart W. Skelton. Bob and Shirley eventually went their separate ways.

Bob met the love of his life and soul mate Elena Barron in 1986. He'd always comment eight days, that's how long it took him to fall in love for the first time. After a very long engagement they married on May 25th, 2002. Together they had many adventures and eventually they found their way to Salmon, ID.

Bob always looked forward to January when his son Brian would make plans for their annual father/son ducking hunting weekend in Bakersfield. Bob always returned rejuvenated from time spent with his son, hunting buddies and lots of good food.

He is survived by his wife, Elena Skelton of Salmon and Meridian, CA; son Brian K. (Julie) Skelton of Bakersfield, CA. Grandchildren: Stuart (Katie) Skelton their daughter Aubrey of Miranda, CA. John (Samantha) Skelton, their children Brayden and Anne Marie. Allie Skelton, her sons, Kayden and Randy of Bakersfield, CA. His mother-in-law Elena Barron of Marysville, Ca. Uncle Henry Knauber of Wiconisco, PA. Many other relatives and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Stuart W. Skelton, and his sister Charlotte Eggert.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Salmon Valley or Salmon Valley Hospice at 506 VanDreft St., Salmon, ID 83467.
