Christopher Leslie (Chris) Colon Obituary

Christopher Leslie (Chris) Colon, 56, of Marysville, passed away unexpectedly on June 20, 2017. Chris was born November 10, 1960 in Roseville, California. He moved to Olivehurst in 1963 with his mother Marcia and older brother Michael. Chris grew up on College Way in Olivehurst.

He attended Olivehurst Elementary and Yuba Gardens schools. As a boy, he loved hunting and fishing in the canals of Olivehurst and Arboga Slough with Michael, close friends Darrell and Charles Cox, Johnny Newsom, and Bob Bohannon. At age 13, Chris became disabled after an accident with a pellet gun, but he remained a strong-willed and friendly person, willing to help anyone in need. Chris will be remembered for his love of the San Francisco 49ers, playing cards, and partying. He was a Karuk Indian.

Chris was preceded in death by father Richard Dean Colon of Redding. He is survived by mother Marcia Johnson of Marysville, brothers Michael Colon of Olivehurst and Eric Colon of Marysville, his aunts, many cousins, and six nephews. Chris had many friends and was beloved by all who knew him.
