Cora Virginia Wilkens, age 98, former resident of Yuba City, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015 at Wichita County Health Center Long Term Care in Leoti, Kansas.

Mrs. Wilkens was born July 11, 1917 in Willow Springs, Missouri, the daughter of Ghould & Tracy (Builta) Moore. A resident of Leoti since 2010 moving from Visalia, California, she was a homemaker and a Missionary.

Mrs. Wilkens was raised in the Baptist Church and was also spiritually supported by the Parks Presbyterian Church in rural Wichita County, Kansas. On August 1, 1937 she married John Edward Wilkens in Wichita County, Kansas. Mr. Wilkens passed away on February 17, 2001 in Visalia, California.

Mrs. Wilkens' surviving family includes, three children and their spouses, Charlotte Naomi and Jim Gift of Visalia, California, Douglas and Fran Wilkens of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Steven and Nadine Wilkens of Morgan Hill, California; one sister Vandella Grusing of Leoti, Kansas. Eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services were held October 24, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Leoti, Kansas with the Reverends Nathan Gift and Gary Salmans officiating.

Inurnment will be Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 9AM at Visalia District Cemetery in Visalia, California. Memorials may be given to the Moody Bible Institute, Bibles International or Baptist Mid Missions and mailed to Charlotte Gift, 36002 Road 124, Visalia, CA 93291.
