Dianna G. Voorhees Obituary

Dianna G. Voorhees passed away peacefully in her home on May 7, 2017. Born April 17, 1944 to James A. Gray of Alabama and Wonda R. Gray (Larson) of Utah. Dianna was a 57-year resident of Arbuckle.

A graduate of Pierce High School in 1962, Dianna's passion was always the people and community of Arbuckle, especially her three grandchildren. Dianna was a fixture at Arbuckle events and her children's and grandchildren's sporting events, documenting every touchdown, spike and basket with a hundred photographs.

Dianna loved antiquing, gardening, scrapbooking and was known for keeping an impeccably immaculate house. She was known as the "Photo and Shutterfly Queen." If you saw her at a game or local event, it usually meant you were getting your picture taken. Many kids and adults often received unique, personalized photo collages made into cards, calendars and coffee mugs made from the thousands of photos she had taken.

Dianna had a passion for bookkeeping and her professional career reflected this. Dianna's professional career spanned 35 years with the United States Postal Service, 27 as Postmaster in Grimes. In her retirement, she worked as a part-time bookkeeper for Ace Hardware. She also served on the Arbuckle Revitalization Board of Directors as Treasurer. One of her many passions was working with numbers.

Dianna enjoyed traveling to Maui and around the country on yearly postmaster trips with her beloved sister and best friend, Debbie Charter.

Dianna is survived by her two sons, Michael (Ellen) of Arbuckle, Todd of Chula Vista, Ca; grandsons Jake and Luke and granddaughter Riley Voorhees; sister Debbie Charter (Jeff) of Arbuckle; nephews Garrett Charter (Sarah), Ross Charter (Chelsea) and great-nieces, Leah, Carlie, Macie and Brooke and two "adopted" grandchildren Ricardo and Rodrigo Aldana.

Graveside services will take place Friday, May 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Arbuckle Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at the residence of Jeff and Debbie Charter.

The family asks in lieu of flowers; a donation be made to the Arbuckle Revitalization Committee or Arbuckle Little League.

Arrangements are under the direction of McNary-Moore Funeral Service FD-410 www.mcnarymoorefuneralservice.com
