Elvin Taylor Obituary

Elvin Taylor was born to parents, Lester Taylor and Euna Kimbrell-Taylor on July 23, 1930, in Marshall, Oklahoma. Elvin moved with his parents to the Yuba Sutter area where he met and married his childhood sweetheart, Nadean Henshaw, to whom he was devoted for 70 years. Together they raised two daughters. Elvin passed away peacefully on February 3, 2018, at the age of 87.

In addition to his role as a loving husband and father, Elvin was a custom home contractor in the Yuba Sutter area having a reputation for building quality homes with superior finish work. He was a self-taught guitar player and an avid wood worker, building boats, furniture, custom indoor and outdoor lighting as well as cabinetry. He also had a lifelong love affair with automobiles, restoring numerous classic cars and trucks to mint condition and winning many awards at local car shows. Together, he and his wife moved to Roseville, CA, in 2015 to be closer to their family.

He is survived by his daughters, Karen Taylor Doran (Steve) of Sacramento, CA and Denice Taylor French (Andy) of Roseville, CA; sister-in-law, Evelyn Henshaw Holverson (Rex) of Battleground, WA; grandsons, Chris Brown of Granite Bay, CA , Matt French (Lisa) of Granite Bay, CA, Sean Doran (Andrea) of Elk Grove, CA; and five great grandchildren, Saylor French, Logan Macedo, Ethan Macedo, Aubrey Doran, Zoe Doran and Posie French.

Elvin is preceded in death by the love of his life, Nadean, his parents and his brother Delmar.

The family will hold a graveside ceremony honoring both Elvin and Nadean at Sierra View Memorial Park located at 4900 Olive Ave., Olivehurst, California, on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 11 am. Afterwards, a Celebration of Life luncheon will be hosted by their daughters at the Hillcrest Landing Restaurant located at 229 Clark Ave. (inside Hillcrest Plaza), Yuba City, California at 1 pm. Please join us in remembrance of Elvin and Nadean Taylor and celebrate their long and lovingly devoted life together.
