Ernestine Stead Obituary

Living in our hearts forever, Ernestine Stead, 85 years young, went to be with the Lord. She passed peacefully at the home of her daughter and son-in- law's surrounded by love on July 3, 2016 with the support of the Sutter North Hospice Program.

Ernestine was born to Albert Nichols and Dora Blackwell Nichols on June 27, 1931 in Oklahoma. She had four brothers: James, Eugene, Albert and Leo and one sister Mary Lee, with two half brothers: Dick and Dan Roper and three half sisters: Avie, Kate, and Clarney Roper.

Ernestine was young at heart, loving her doll collection in which she had as many handmade dolls as she had purchased dolls. She lived life to the fullest enjoying simple pleasures: going to the casino, shopping, spending time with family and friends laughing and always wearing a smile on her face. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, and friend. She will truly be missed.

Ernestine leaves to cherish her loving memory, her dear brother Leo Nichols, beloved children: daughter Louella (Joe) Wilson, son Marshall Taylor, daughter Jeanette (Danny) Parks, her loyal and good friends Janet Barbero and Shirley Bolliger, 11 grandchildren, 12 plus great-grandchildren, 5 granddogs and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Private services will be held at a later date at the Sutter Cemetery.
