Henry McGilvray Obituary

Henry Jedediah "JED" McGilvray, 38, died January 29th, 2018, in Marysville California.
He was born November 30, 1979, in Oroville, California. He attended grade school in Gridley, graduating from Gridley High School. He struggled with school but found his place on the wrestling team.

After graduation, he served his mission for the Mormon church in Montana. He enjoyed his work for the California Conservation Corp. He was content putting out fires, working with chains saws and replanting the forests. He loved being part of nature. He would take half dead and discarded roses, 75% off bulbs and the neighbors mistreated and forgotten plants and bring them all back to life. Gardening was his passion. He was so proud when his labor resulted in blooms.

He also enjoyed working with the human side and graduated as an EMT, more recently drove a nonemergency van. Spending time and visiting with his dialysis patients gave him purpose. He enjoyed hearing their stories and cared for each one of them.
Saturday we will say goodbye to the son of Mortin and Clara Jane McGilvray. But those of us who loved him, and ache with his passing, know Jed by the other titles he held: father to Rori Jane and Rosalyn Rose, loving stepfather to Jeremiah Brian and Ranae Reese. Brother to Jordan and Mack Mcgilvray, Angie Webb and Mary Roberts. Nephew, cousin and friend. He will be remembered as Uncle Jed to his nieces and nephews who loved him unconditionally.

For those that were lucky enough to have him in our lives know that he was a better man than most men you will ever meet. He was a good, good man and he will be missed.

Jed's celebration of life will be held at the Hoffman's house, Saturday, February 10, 2018, at 11912 Shiloh Lane, Browns Valley, California. We will start with a planting ceremony at 3:30pm. Please bring a plant or tree and we can all enjoy the afternoon bringing Jed's Garden to LIFE.

So sorry for the family's loss. The death of a family member is truly a distressing time. May cherished memories of Henry bring smiles to your faces and comfort your hearts. Take comfort in knowing that God keeps in his memory those whom we lose in death because they are precious in his eyes. (Psalms 116:15)

I miss you... miss working with you, talking with you about everything,.. miss us laughing at me and my screw ups.. .. but most of all i miss seeing your face light up whenever you were able to help someone.... I'm forever changed by your life and look forward to seeing you again with our Father. Thank you Jed
