Herbert Bernard Myers Obituary

Herbert Bernard Myers of Yuba City, CA passed away October 12, 2017. He was born in Chico, CA on April 21, 1948 to Bernard and Eloise Myers. He grew up in Arbuckle, CA and graduated from Pierce High School in 1966.

After graduating he joined the United States Air Force. He served in the Vietnam War from 1967-1968. After serving time in the military, he then attended Yuba College and Chico State. After graduating from Chico State he moved to Visalia, CA for his internship at Kaweah Delta hospital to become a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. After completing his internship he moved to the Yuba Sutter area and began working at Fremont-Rideout Hospital in July of 1979. He loved his job and all of his co-workers. He would often refer to his job as his only hobby and his co-workers as his work family. After 35 years of service he retired in August 2014.

He is survived by his 2 daughters Meghan (Larry) Roberts and Caylon (Mitchell) Ortiz and his 2 grandchildren Kiley Roberts and Jameson Ortiz. He is preceded in death by Bernard Myers (father), Eloise Myers (mother), and Earlene Myers (Sister).

Services for Herb will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 11:00am at Ullrey Memorial Chapel, 817 Almond Street, Yuba City, CA 95991. Immediately following please join us for a celebration of his life at Hillcrest Landing formerly Ruthy's, 229 Clark Ave, Yuba City, CA 95991.

Herb knew no stranger, had a funny sense of humor, and a contagious laugh. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers please send a donation to the .
