Jeanne was born December 16, 1930 in Marysville, California, and passed away peacefully on January 24, 2017 at the age of 86, surrounded by her husband and children.

Jeanne is survived by her husband of 65 years, Clark Tokunaga of Yuba City. She is also survived by her four children and their spouses: Terrie (Gary) Matsumoto of Elk Grove; Bob (Janis) Tokunaga of Sacramento; Joanne (Kevin) Devine and Mark (Linda) Tokunaga both of Incline Village, Nevada, and 8 grandchildren.

Jeanne attended Walter Kynoch Elementary School in Marysville. At age 12, she and her family were interned for over 3 years in the Tule Lake and Amache concentration camps during World War II. Following the war, Jeanne's family moved to Chicago before returning to Marysville in 1945. She graduated from Marysville High School in 1948 and earned an Associate degree from Yuba College. Jeanne married Clark on Christmas, 1951. While Jeanne raised her family, she worked as a bookkeeper and Pharmacist Assistant at Safesave Pharmacy for over 25 years.

A devout Buddhist, Jeanne was an active and respected member of the Marysville Buddhist Church. She taught Sunday School, served several terms as superintendent of Sunday School teachers, and worked with the Marysville chapter of the Buddhist Women's Association with many of her friends.

Some of Jeanne's favorite activities were hosting holiday events, including large New Year's Day family gatherings, and following the San Francisco Giants and Sacramento Kings. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing and crocheting.

Memorial services will be held at the Marysville Buddhist Church, 125 B Street, Marysville on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeanne's memory may be made to further Parkinson's Disease research through , https://www.michaeljfox.org.
