Ken Dalton Scott Obituary

Ken Dalton Scott of Yuba City, CA, passed away August 14, 2014 at his residence.

He was born November 7, 1936 in Sulfur, Oklahoma. Ken and his family moved to Marysville, CA in 1950 where he attended grammar school at Alicia Grammar School and proceeded to attend Marysville High School; graduating the year of 1955.

Ken continued his education at Yuba College where he worked at the book store and studied business accounting. Ken graduated with his Associates Degree in 1957. In April of 1955 Ken joined the Naval Reserve, where he served as a Radioman with the 12th Naval District sending and deciphering Morse Code messages. He was honorably discharged in April of 1963.

Ken began working for Valley Truck and Tractor Co in September of 1955 as a clean-up boy after school, later moving up into the parts division and ending with being office manager, as well as part owner. Ken retired after 50 years of service for Valley Truck and Tractor Co in 2005. Ken met his wife Stella J Scott in October of 1955, which led to marriage in June of 1958. They just celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary June 14, 2014. They had three beautiful children together, Sheryl Lynn Scott/Hickey, Rex Allen Scott and Brian Keith Scott. Ken and his beautiful family moved to Sutter County in 1967 where he lived out the rest of his life.

Ken is survived by his wife Stella J. Scott; his two sons, Rex Allen Scott and Brian Keith Scott; his four granddaughters, Nicole Hickey, Jillian Scott, Sadie Cozine and Hannah Scott, as well as his two sisters, Keitha Wood and Laquitta Weibel. Services will be held at Ullrey Memorial Chapel Inc., 817 Almond St, Yuba City, CA 95991 on August 22, 2014 at 2:00 pm. Graveside services will follow at Sutter Cemetery, 7200 Butte Ave., Sutter, CA 95982, then a reception at the Scott residence, 371 N. Township Rd., Yuba City, CA 95993.
