July 13, 1938 - August 26, 2016

Leo Jay Alexander (Jay), 78 of Marysville, California, suddenly passed away Friday, August 26, 2016. He was born in Quincy, California on July 13, 1938 to Lois and Donald Alexander. Jay lived in the Yuba-Sutter area for over 50 years.

Jay served in the Navy Reserve. After serving his country, he returned to Northern California where he became a certified Public Accountant.

He was a gifted musician that played the piano and trumpet at concert level. He was a zealous member of the Northern California Corvette Association as well as a boat enthusiast. Upon his son's interest in ice hockey, Jay became a California Junior Ice Hockey Association Referee. He also raised registered Polled Hereford cattle with his late wife, Betty. Anything Jay did, he did wholeheartedly. Never one to watch from the porch; he lived life fully.

Jay was a talented Certified Public Accountant for 50 plus years. He had a successful practice in Yuba City. He was a proud supporter of the Yuba-Sutter Area and spent many years volunteering at the Yuba Sutter Fair. Jay retired in November, 2015 and kept active being an avid Sacramento Kings fan.

Leo Jay Alexander was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Lois Alexander and his beloved wife of 29 years, Betty Alexander. He is survived by his children; John Alexander, David Anderson, Kathy D. Blenn, Ralph D. Blenn and Shari Ellis Cook. He was blessed with seven grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 8th, 2016 at the Hillcrest Plaza Hanger, Yuba City from 3-6 pm. Please call Ullrey Memorial Chapel for further information.
