Lillian Marie Dockrey Obituary

Lillian Marie Dockrey died peacefully at the age of 95 on October 1st, 2017, in her home at Summerfield Senior Living surrounded by family. She was born December 5th, 1921, in Taylor, Texas to Julia and Rudolph Kocurek; she was one of five children. She married her husband Ira Calvin Dockrey (Cal) in July 26, 1946, who was in the navy at the time. As a naval officer's wife, they lived in Virginia, Panama, Washington and finally settled in Yuba City in 1961.

In addition to being a mother of eight children, she was a devoted member of St. Isadore's Parish and volunteered there and at St. Isadore's School in many capacities. She was also a volunteer Pink Lady at the hospital for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, dancing, playing bridge, bowling, fishing and making delicious pies.

She is survived by 6 children; Karen Bryson (Thomas), Dennis Dockrey (Judy), Timothy Dockrey (Heidi), all from Yuba City, Terry Jewett (Tony) from Chico, Steve Dockrey and Mark Dockrey (Dolly) of Sacramento. She was also fortunate enough to have 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her 2 sisters; Martha Cervanka and Georgia Chamberlain both of Texas.

She is predeceased by her husband, Cal, and two of her children; Lynda Dalton and Daniel Dockrey, and her two brothers; Alex Kocurek and Jerry Kocurek.

There will be a viewing for her at the Chapel of the Twin Cities Thursday, October 5th, 2017, from 4 to 8 p.m. Rosary will be said for her there on Thursday at 6 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, October 6th, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Isadore's Church with a reception immediately following at the hall.

The family would like to thank Summerfield Senior Living for their love and care of Lillian during her stay there and also Sutter North Hospice for all that they did for her in her final days.
