Lloyd James Hand Obituary

Lloyd James Hand, of Marysville, CA, passed away January 2, 2018, at home with his wife and daughter beside him. He was born June 11, 1934, in Mossoula, Montana.

Lloyd was a resident of the Yuba-Sutter area for 14 years as a ranch caretaker and was involved with the Boy Scouts of America and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1951 and served aboard the U.S.S. Essex (CV-9) as a "frogman" during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1955.

Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of over 30 years, Judy Carol Hand; his oldest daughter, Tina Renee Hand, also of Marysville; a niece, Barbara of Concord; a brother-in-law, Fred Price; and nephew, Clint Price of Chico, his grandchildren, Amber; Sean; and Megan; and many great-grandchildren, all of Oregon.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Leddie Hand; all seven of his brothers and sisters; his beloved first wife, Peggy; and his beautiful, youngest daughter, Kimberly.

A celebration of life is scheduled at The Bride Church, 1321 Peach Tree Lane, Yuba City, on February 3, 2018, at 11am. Pastor Bob Ouzts officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Lydia's House in care of The Bride Church.
