Obituary Condolences

Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Lydia Louise Veale, a resident of Marysville, CA, will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 223 8th Street, Marysville, CA. Burial will be at Sacramento National Cemetery (Dixon), 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, CA. A Recitation of the Rosary vigil will take place at Lipp and Sullivan Funeral Home, 629 D Street, Marysville, CA on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 7:00 pm. Viewing will precede the Rosary from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Lydia was granted her angel wings at Rideout Memorial Hospital, Marysville, on Saturday, December 27, 2014 after a brief illness. She was born on November 27, 1927 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Thomas and Angela Komposch. She was united in marriage to Myron Veale on June 30, 1969 in Angola, Indiana. They were married for 47 blissful years.

She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church as an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion and Catholic Daughters of the Americas for many years.

Lydia is survived by her loving husband Myron; two children Suzanne Otte of Battle Creek, Michigan and Sallie Rapp of Marysville, CA; a stepdaughter Christine Thompson of Columbia, South Carolina; seven loving grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one sister Helen O'Heran Rettenmaier of Battle Creek, Michigan; and eleven nieces and nephews. Lydia was preceded in death by her sister Angie of Venice, Florida.

Lydia, or "Nanny" as she was known to many, was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. More than that, she was a kind, loving, gentle and most elegant lady. Rest in Peace Nanny. You are loved and will be greatly missed by your family and all who knew and love you.
