Nick Nicastro Obituary

Nick Nicastro, 86, of Yuba City, CA, passed away surrounded by his family on July 30, 2014.

Nick was born in Susanville, CA, to Giovanni and Maria Francesca Nicastro on June 28, 1928. He grew up in Susanville where he worked for the mill until he married Laura Laurella and they moved to Carmichael, CA in 1957.

In 1970, Nick and his family moved to Yuba City where he was co-owner of Hub City Dodge. Nick later owned Prospector Auto Sales in Yuba City. He was a Navy Airdale in the Korean War aboard the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown.

Nick loved the mountains, traveling, road trips, hunting, golf, dancing, and in his later years gardening and building birdhouses.

Nick is survived by his son Rick Nicastro of Arizona; daughter Cyndi Jayne of Yuba City; granddaughters, Elizabeth Lystrup-Pena and Marisa Jayne, both of Yuba City. Sisters, Aida Volpe of Redding and Gloria Lohbeck of Reno and brother Jim Nicastro of Hemet.
