Obituary Condolences

Pamela Fawn Carrico, born November 20, 1922 passed away on June 19, 2014 at The Fountains in Yuba City after a brief illness. Pam was born in Indiana and raised in Tennessee. She attended Drake University in Des Moines Iowa and received her Bachelors degree. She was a surgical nurse in the Navy in World War II and served in hospital in both the Pacific and Atlantic coasts.

After the war she taught school in the Bakersfield area and also near San Jose. She then went to law school in San Francisco at U.C. Hastings where she was one of only 4 women studying law, with over a thousand male law students. She said it was never difficult having a date for dinner or a movie. After finishing her studies at Hastings Pam married Jack E. Carrico and then drove her VW Beetle across the country to study tax law at NYU in New York City. Pam had to cut short her studies when she discovered she was pregnant with Joe. Pam had a law practice in Gridley and then moved to Yuba City in 1963 with her husband Jack. Jack was a rice farmer but Pam convinced him to study law and in addition to her law practice, Pam took over the responsibilities for the farming while Jack was away at UC Berkeley Bolt Hall Law school. After moving to Yuba City Pam and Jack opened a law practice "Carrico and Carrico Attorneys at Law" and had their offices for many years on Clark avenue near Yuba City High School.

Jack passed away in 1992. Pam is survived by her son, Joe, his wife Liselotte Carrico and their three daughters Charlotte Jacqueline, Amanda Fawn and Karin Pia Beverly and also by her daughter Jacqueline, her husband Bruce Faylor and their daughter Alex and son Jackson.
