Pargat Singh Mundi, a resident of Gridley, CA, passed away peacefully on January 5th, 2018. He was born on September 20th, 1936, in India. He came to America in 1976 and has been a resident of Gridley since 1978.

Pargat was very fond of musical instruments, technology, and was a handy man. He had a very outgoing personality and would never miss the chance to strike up a conversation with anyone. In India, he served in the Indian Army for fifteen years, and his father, Capt. Charan Singh Mundi was also in the Indian Army, fighting in World War II.

Pargat will be remembered for his honesty, support, generosity, great sense of humor, and his unconditional love towards everyone. Ultimately, he will be remembered for his bravery, courage, and strength till the end.

Pargat had many loved ones who will always remember him for the great man he was: Jit Kaur Mundi (Wife, Gridley, CA), Sukhwinder Singh Mundi (Son, Gridley, CA – spouse – Jatinder Kaur Mundi), Surjit Kaur Bains (Daughter, Sacramento, CA – spouse
-Nirmal Singh Bains), Davinder Kaur Bali (Daughter, Yuba City, CA – spouse – Raj Kumar Bali), Sarbjit Singh Mundi (Brother, San Pablo, CA), Somitter Singh Mundi (Brother, New York, NY), Mohinderjit Kaur Kullar (Sister, Richmond, CA), Sukhdev Singh Mundi (Brother, Yuba City, CA). Pargat also had a strong, close-knitted relationship with all nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by Capt. Charan Singh Mundi (father), Gurbachan Kaur Mundi (mother), and Satnam Singh Mundi (brother).

Pargat's funeral service will be held at the Chapel of the Twin Cities in Yuba City, CA, on 715 Shasta Street on Saturday, January 13th, 2018, at 11:00 am. Prayer services will follow at the Sikh Temple of Live Oak, CA.
