Glenna Sue Tarrant, 60, of Wheatland, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016 in Folsom, California. Sue was a loving and devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother (Mam Maw), and Dear Friend.

Sue was born December 22, 1956 in Peru, Indiana, to Leonard E. Venice and Bernadine Alspach. During her early years, she took on the last name Petty, as she was adopted by Russell Petty shortly after he married Bernadine. Lt. Col. Petty eventually landed at Beale Air Force Base in California with his family. During her 8th grade year at Bear River school in Wheatland, Sue met the love of her life and ultimately her life partner in Darrell Tarrant. The two wed on June 12, 1975, a day after she graduated from Wheatland High School. The two have resided in Wheatland ever since.

She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Darrell Tarrant, her greatest gifts in life being her 3 sons Clint (Melissa), Seth (Chelsea), and Josh (Amber) all of Wheatland. She is also survived by her 4 brothers Jon Venice of Indiana and Mike Venice of Missouri, Russ Petty of Yuba City, and Rich Petty of Oregon, 2 sisters Christine Doyle of Yuba City and Lisa Larson of Sacramento. The latter part of her life has been dedicated to her grandchildren. Mam Maw Sue offered unwavering affection and passionate support to her 9 grandchildren Dayton, AJ, Mykah, Savannah, Cash, Brody, Zoey, Jake, and Maverick. She will forever live on in all of our hearts.

Sue's legacy extended in to the community, as she was always committed to the youth that lived here. She was a loyal and hardworking educator for the Wheatland School District for 32 years of her life. She had served on the Wheatland Little League Board, coached numerous WLL teams when her sons were younger and more recently, taking on coaching duties for her grandchildren's teams. Sue was also named Alumnus of the Year for Wheatland High School in 1996. There continues to be an outpouring of stories of all the lives she has touched.

Sue loved to go camping and enjoyed the outdoors with family and friends. Family trips to Fort Bragg and the beach were a given every year. Most of all, Sue simply cherished time spent with family and friends. She held those moments to her heart most dearly. Sue "Lived to Love". We will all remember that warm and kindhearted smile that welcomed all and made everyone feel at home.
