Thomas Earl Couts Sr.
Thomas Earl Couts Sr., 76, beloved husband, father, and brother, of Clermont, FL, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017 at his residence in Orlando, surrounded by his family. Tom was born on October 7, 1940 in Whitefield, OK to the proud parents of Roy and Ruby (Childers) Couts. He was raised in the Olivehurst/Marysville, California area. He was educated in Olivehurst from elementary through high school.

Tom served in the US Navy after graduating from Marysville High School. He served in the Navy for 4 and a half years, during the Vietnam Era. Tom started as a service station attendant and moved up the promotion ladder to a former VP of Marketing for Phillip Oil Company for the Midwest and was a VP of Marketing for Frontier Oil in Denver. He was President of Couts Oil and Trucking before he moved to the Orlando, Florida area in 2005, coming from Tulsa, OK. He was also involved in community organizations such the Boy Scouts, being a Troop Committee Chairman for the Boy Scouts, a Webelos Leader and assistant cub master for the Cub Scouts.

Tom was also a Square Dance caller and lived by the motto, "Have party, will travel". Tom was known for his joking personality, happy look on life, and being the life of the party.

He was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Couts, his parents, Clarence Roy Couts, Ruby (Childers) Couts, his brothers, Clarence Jr. "Bo" Couts, Donald Couts, and Rudolph "Steve" Couts.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 44 years, Carol A. Couts, MD of Clermont, FL; his loving children: Thomas E. Jr. and Dorrine Couts of Riverside, CA; Donnie Couts of Clermont; Margaret and Rick Richardson of Clermont and Aaron Couts of Richmond, CA; his sister, Barbara Ann Evans of Yuba City, CA; seven grandchildren: Shane, Ronnie, Danielle, Brenna, Shannon, Chelsea and Anastasia; and seven great-grandchildren: Alex, Haylee, Matthew, Jacob, Ryan, Haleigh and Dalton Thomas; along with his ex-wife, Carole Morris.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 4:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Groveland, FL.
