Wanda Fay Villarreal Obituary

Wanda Fay Villarreal, one of the sweetest and kindest people any of us could ever know, passed away on April 2, 2015 at the age of 69. Her passing was due to a heart attack. Wanda was born on December 27, 1945 in Yuba City, CA to her parents Howard and Nadine Duncan. She grew up in Yuba City with her four sisters, Joy, Margaret, Shirley and Connie, where they had their own little adventures each day! Mom remembers going and picking fruit with her family and sisters as some of her most fun childhood days. She attended Yuba City High School. In 1966, she met the love of her life, Paul Gabriel Villarreal, and they had two daughters, Angela Marie and Paula Nadine. Her sisters describe Paul as the saint that came in and made their sister so happy and said nobody deserved to be happier than her. Wanda was a devoted stay-at-home mom that gave us daughters the most unconditional love any mother could ever give. She was always there for us and you just knew she was always thinking of you. Her husband and girls were her life and there was no place she'd rather be than at home with them. After Wanda tragically lost her daughter, Angela, in a car accident in 1988 and then her husband, Paul, two years later of a brain aneurysm, she showed us all just how strong a woman can be. She even began to work at Walmart so she could support us as well as make many new friends. She left Walmart in 2006. She somehow continued on with her inner strength and picked herself up. She showed us all that as hard as life is, you can be strong and keep your head up and not let it ruin your life. She was so proud of her independence and we all admire her great dignity. The more recent years have been filled with joy as she became a grandmother of Bradley Paul in 2003 and Natalie Angela in 2005. We moved our family back to Yuba City in 2006 so she could watch her grandchildren grow and give her the love and life she so deserved. Nothing made us all happier than to be together.

Wanda is survived by her mother, Nadine Ketchersid of Marysville, CA. Daughter, Paula Nadine Buzzini of Yuba City, CA. Son-in-Law, Brett Buzzini of Yuba City, CA. Granddaughter, Natalie Angela Buzzini of Yuba City, CA. Grandson, Bradley Paul Buzzini of Yuba City, CA. Sisters, Shirley Jean Graves of Orange, CA, Verna Joy Jones of Fairview, Oregon and Margaret Ann Pearson of Browns Valley, CA.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Gabriel Villarreal, on June 9, 1990. Daughter, Angela Marie Villarreal, on May 27, 1988. Sister, Connie Beyer, on March 12, 2003. Father, Howard Duncan, on February 19, 1989.

A service will be held on Monday, April 13, 2015, at 2pm at Sutter Cemetery. All friends and family are welcome to come for this casual gathering to express our memories and love for Wanda.
