Sending heartfelt condolences to the family. I was shocked and saddened to hear about the loss of Bimla. While I only worked at Caltrans for a short time, I had the pleasure to meet and work with Bimla. She was bright, kind and the ultimate professional and leader. She gained the immediate respect and admiration of those who met her. Over time, I hope your pain will lessen and may happier memories of Bimla fill your hearts. With sincere sympathy,

I can't put into words what I felt when I found out about your passing! The news gripped my heart and I knew then that a part of it had gone with you. Even though we didn't get together often, we still kept in touch - just to check in, or make plans to get together later. You were a bright light and always had a kind word for everyone who crossed your path. I miss you terribly, but know you are no longer in pain. I thank you for always being there with directions and suggestions. I especially thank you for the friendship for the 20 years we knew each other. Love ya, Bimla!

I first met Bimla 15 yrs ago, when my dad introduced her to me. I was instantly in awe of her. She was beautiful, smart, professional, well-spoken, polished and professional. She was all the things I wanted to be.
A few years later I interviewed for a Project Manager position and she was on the panel. I was so focused on winning her approval that I ended up bombing the interview. I was pretty depressed afterwards; convinced I had made a complete fool of myself and torpedoed my career. But, Bimla in a way that only she could, consoled me with her warm smile, compassionate eyes and reassuring words. She put everything in perspective and told me later I would look back and laugh at this. She was right.
I eventually got my promotion but I never stopped learning from Bimla. She was a special soul and I will miss her greatly. Rest in Peace, my friend.

This was the beginning of a genuine friendship You will always be in my heart. Bim, I love you and miss you.

In the time I had to work with Bimla, her charm and grace could not be denied. As her Washington State counterpart, we shared experiences and insights and I always found her perspective to be so valuable. Our two transportation commissions met and collaborated together on several occasions and much credit goes to her for the success of our interactions. I will miss her comradery and friendship dearly.

I was one of Bimla's teachers at Yuba City High School her senior year. She was a model student and an exceptional individual. Later on while working for Caltrans we were reaquainted. She was still the same exceptional person that I knew as a young student. My heart, love and prayers go out to those she treasured and left behind. May she rest in peace.

Bimla was a wise and creative leader at Caltrans. I will miss her friendship and counsel.
Besides sharing time as managers at Caltrans, we were both graduates of Yuba City High and Yuba College, albeit at different times. We often joked about being the highest ranking Honkers in State Government, but with her promotion to Executive Director of the CTC, I think she won sole ownership of that title.
I will miss her winning smile; her calm, assured manner; and her precise way of speaking. She was a beautiful person and I was happy to share some years as her coworker.
