Sioux Falls, SD, Doris D. Carlson, 85, died on Sunday, May 5, 2013..
Graveside services will begin at 9:00 AM on Friday, May 10, 2013 at Pleasant View Cemetery in Valley Springs, SD with a memorial service to begin at 10:30 AM at East Side Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. Visitation will begin at12:00 PM on Thursday at George Boom Funeral Home, Sioux Falls with the family present to greet friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to East Side Lutheran Church or the Sioux Falls Scottish Rite Speech Disorder Clinic
Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Janice Nelson, Mason City, IA, Bruce (Elaine) Carlson, Palm Coast, FL, Brian (Kim Jorgensen) Carlson, Sioux Falls, SD; daughter-in-law, Judy Carlson, St Peter, MN; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; son, Gary Carlson; son-in-law, Tom Nelson; great-grandson, Cody Thompson; and one brother, James Jacobson.

We often feel the need to be comforted. Especially is this the case when we are experiencing difficult situations. Only God can give us comfort from distress that is beyond human remedies. His word assures us. (Psalms 145:18&19)
