Lois G. Johnson

Flandreau-Lois Johnson, 87, died Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Dougherty Hospice House. Lois was born April 7, 1926 in Miner County, SD to Arthur and Erma (Bickett) Hanson. She graduated from Oldham High School and General Beadle State Teacher's College. Lois married Kenneth L. Johnson on April 2, 1947 in Sioux Falls, SD. They lived in the Oldham area and Lois was a teacher in Kingsbury County. In 1959 they moved to the Flandreau area and Lois worked at the Moody County Extension Office for 12 years retiring on December 31, 1991.They moved to a farm two miles northeast of Colman, SD in 1983. Her husband preceded her in death on January 5, 1992 and then Lois moved to Flandreau. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Lois is survived by four sons, Kenneth "Dan", Brandon, SD, Dale, Sioux Falls, Keith, Brookings, Nathan (Tamara), Hamler, OH, a daughter Pamela Ruff, Garretson, SD, 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and a special cousin, Loretta Beard, San Antonio, TX. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, son Brian, parents, three brothers and a sister. Services will be 10:30 am Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Flandreau with visitation Tuesday from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Skroch Funeral Chapel. Burial will be Wednesday at 1:30 pm at the Oldham Cemetery, Oldham, SD. www.skrochfc.com
