Sioux Falls - Bernadine "Birdie" Ann Millette, age 92, born in Salem, SD on February 28, 1926 passed away Monday, June11, 2018 surrounded by her family.

Birdie was born to Benjamin and Elizabeth Brinker and raised on a farm in Salem, SD with her twin sister Bernadette (d) "Bonnie" and an older sister Nicki. United in marriage to Louis T. Millette (d) October 18, 1946 and married for 36 years before her loving husband passed away in 1982. They resided in Sioux Falls, SD. She lived her life being the best wife and mother of four. In the early years she was active in Catholic Church guilds and Catholic School committees. She was known by her friends and family for her famous cooking, especially her pies. Her love of cooking has been passed through the generations.

On May 18, 1992, she married Charles "Chuck" L. Wood. They shared many good years traveling and wintering in Arizona and loved gathering with friends for dinner and playing cards.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Chuck; her children, David Millette (Rosemary), Robert Millette (d) (Jill m. Dave Rowe), Karen Reiter (Jeff) all of Sioux Falls, Janet Studdert (George) Sonoma, CA; her 8 grandchildren, Anthony Millette (Darcy), Matthew Millette (Kelly), Ashley Koller (Matt), Jessica Aning (Ben), Benjamin Reiter (Marianna Madeo), Jacqi Reiter (Mike Zagozda), Lou Studdert (Kristi), and Scott Studdert (Laura); 12 great-grandchildren, Isaac and Adele Millette, Marley and Avery Koller, Dominic, Zach and Rebecca Aning, Logan and Nathan Zagozda, Ripley, Griffin and Aria Studdert; and her sister Nicki Donelan, Sioux Falls, SD and also many nieces and nephews.

Those who went before her were her loving husband, Lou, her son Bob, twin sister Bonnie, and her parents Benjamin and Elizabeth (Scheier) Brinker.

Birdie believed strongly in her Catholic Faith and Catholic Education and started the Louis and Bernadine Millette Fund for the Catholic School System. Public visitation begins at 1:00 pm Monday June 18, with the family greeting friends from 5:00-7:00 pm, with a scripture service at 7:00 pm at Miller Funeral Home 507. S. Main Ave. A funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 am Tuesday, June 19, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 3601 E. Dudley Lane, Sioux Falls, with luncheon and burial to follow. www.millerfh.com
