Beverly Kroupa Obituary
Beverly Kroupa

Beverly Marie (Heller) Kroupa, 75, of Centerville, SD passed away peacefully May 9, 2017 at the Centerville Care and Rehab Center in Centerville, SD. She was born April 12, 1942 to Alva and Ethel Mae (Shubeck) Heller. She attended school in Centerville, SD and graduated from Centerville High School in 1960. Bev obtained her Bachelors of Science degree in education from Dakota State University, Madison, SD, in 1970. She married John Kroupa at Dalesburg Baptist Church, rural Beresford, and with that union they adopted a daughter, Janyce. She spent many years working at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD.

Beverly was a member of Dalesburg Baptist Church. She loved socializing at her nursing home and always had a story to tell; if you had an ear she had a story to tell. She loved doing word finds and you could find a million she was working on in her room. She loved knitting things for her three grandsons who were the apple of her eye and she always talked about so proudly. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Those grateful to share her life are her daughter Janyce (Kroupa) Swords of Sioux Falls, SD; three grandsons: Kayden Kroupa of Sioux Falls, SD, Jarrett (Kroupa) Tassler of North Sioux City, SD, and Rian Swords of Irene, SD; one sister, Madeline Geigle of Lincoln, NE; one uncle, Fred Shubeck, Beresford, SD; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Alva and Ethel Heller, two sisters, Doris Monroe and Darlene Van de Voort, and one brother Rollin who died in infancy.

Memorial services will be 10AM Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Dalesburg Baptist Church, rural Vermillion. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
