Beverly A. Rabenhorst, 87, of Salem passed away on December 9, 2016 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, December 16 at Sun Prairie Baptist Church near Salem. Visitation will begin at 9 am on Thursday with family present from 6 - 8 pm at Kinzley Funeral Home in Salem.

Beverly Ann (Tieszen) Rabenhorst was born Nov. 22, 1929 to Dietrich and Esther (Deckert) Tieszen. She grew up on a farm near Marion, SD and attended a rural country school. Beverly graduated from Marion High School and went to get her teaching certificate at Freeman College. She taught country school NW of Salem, where she met her future husband Robert Rabenhorst. They were married in May of 1951. They farmed NW of Salem until Bob passed away in March of 2008.

Beverly was a member of Sun Prairie Baptist Church and Sun Prairie Women's Ministry. She had a passion for gardening and flowers. She loved to entertain and was the best pie maker in McCook County. She loved to see her grandkids and great grandsons.

Bob and Beverly had 3 sons, Tom (Mary) of Hill City, SD, Doug ( Nancy) of Dunlap, IL, and Dan (Sandi) of Salem, SD; 8 grandchildren Brian(Kathy) Rabenhorst, Greg Rabenhorst, Kari Rabenhorst, Kelli (Peter) Rummel, Kristi (Clay) Lindner, Jena (Jeremy) O'Connor, Bryce (Madelyn) Rabenhorst, Cara Rabenhorst; 12 great grandsons, Matt, Nate, Joe and Josh Rabenhorst, Tad and Link Rabenhorst, Case and Cole Rummel, Levi, Crew and Jack Lindner and Derringer O' Connor; one brother Delano (Lavonne) Tieszen; one sister Skyla Petersen; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, one sister, a nephew and a niece.
