Beverly Thompson, 84, of Sioux Falls, died Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Good Samaritan Center in Sioux Falls.

Beverly Ann Olson was born October 9, 1931 in Hamlin County, near Lake Norden, SD. She grew up in that area where she received her education, graduating from Lake Norden High School in 1949.

On November 11, 1951, she was united in marriage with Milton J. Thompson in Yuma, AZ. Throughout their married life, Beverly and Milton lived in various cities around the United States, including Green Cove Springs, FL, Somerset, MA and Chester, PA.

While living in Sioux Falls, Beverly worked at Knopf's Assisted Living, Chris's Country Grill and Nelson's Concessions. She enjoyed playing Bingo, and was a very good cook. Her husband died on August 28, 1987.

She was a member of Beaver Valley Lutheran Church; the VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Carol J. (Richard) Baumgart of Spencer, IA, Dale J. Thompson of Primghar, IA, Cindy J. (Doug) Weatherwax of Deltona, FL, Mark A. Thompson, Carrie J. Thompson, and Juli Rothenbuehler, all of Sioux Falls, SD; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and one sister, Charmane (Lowell) Salomen of Colman, SD.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Clayton, Eugene, Charles, Kenny and Jerry; and two sisters, Joyce and Delight.

Memorial services will begin 1:00 pm Friday, June 24th at Miller Funeral Home, Main Avenue location. Private interment will be in the Beaver Valley South Lutheran Cemetery.
