Charles "Chuck" Briden

Charles "Chuck" R. Briden, retired telecom engineer, died peacefully July 17, 2017, at Dougherty Hospice in Sioux Falls, SD. He was 84.

Chuck was born May 27, 1933, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, to William Earl and Ruth May (Baldwin) Briden. He graduated from East Senior High and served honorably in the Air Force during the Korean War in 1952.

Chuck relocated to California with his mother, Ruth and sister, Pauline, then married Geraldine "Gerri" Marciniak September 1st, 1956 in Montebello, California. During their adventurous 60-year marriage, Chuck and Gerri lived in California, Ohio, Texas, Hawaii, and Sioux Falls, SD.

Chuck helped lead Boy Scout and Indian Guide activities with his sons, and liked camping and fishing with his family. He enjoyed league bowling with Gerri and was an avid TV sports fan of basketball, football, bowling, golf, tennis, bass fishing and more.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Gerri; his children, Michael (Mike Lowery) of Houston, TX and Jeffrey (Jeanne) of Sioux Falls, SD; his grandchildren, Gregory (Amber) and Christopher; his great grandson, Dax; and his sister, Pauline Tracy of Whittier, CA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the would be appreciated.
