Connor Egan Westerhuis

Connor Egan Westerhuis, 14, of Platte, SD passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015. Funeral Services are 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the Platte-Geddes Elementary School Gymnasium in Platte. A Private Family Committal Service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family strongly encourages memorials in Connor's honor be directed to: Westerhuis Family Memorial, c/o Platte-Geddes Community School, PO Box 140, Platte, SD 57369. Connor Egan Westerhuis was born on March 17, 2001 to Scott and Nicole (Fish) Westerhuis in Platte, SD. He attended the eighth grade at Platte-Geddes Community School and was a member of the First Reformed Church. Connor enjoyed competing in various sports and was involved in the Junior High Youth Group, but always made time for his friends.

Connor was such a polite and considerate young man. He was a little bit of a prankster and had a wonderful sense of humor. Connor was active in all athletics. He was the quarterback for the junior high football team and was an excellent basketball and baseball player, as well as running on the track team.

Grateful for having shared in Connor's life: his grandparents, George and Karen Fish of Platte, SD; his grandmother, Pat Westerhuis of Platte, SD; his great-grandfather, Floyd Beukelman of Sioux Falls, SD; along with aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Connor was preceded in death by: his grandfather, Harm Westerhuis; an aunt, Gina Westerhuis and an uncle, Tim Fish. Also his parents, Scott and Nicole; brother, Michael; and two sisters, Jaeci and Kailey.
