Curt was born in Sioux Falls, SD to William and Gertrude (Moore) Anderson on May 17, 1927, which he'd gladly let you know is Norwegian Independence Day. He grew up in Sioux Falls and lived in a house on the hills in Sherman Park where his father was the curator of the park and zoo. He attended Washington High School, enlisted in the United States Navy at a very young age during WWII, and proudly served in the Seabees in Guam and Okinawa. Following his honorable discharge, he married Marjorie in 1947. To this union, ten children were born. He married Georgia in 1968. With Curt's ten children and Georgia's five children, once Curtis Jr. was born, their family was complete.

He worked as a tile setter for Syverson Tile and later started his own company, Curt Anderson Tile in Sioux Falls. He worked hard and retired at the age of 65. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and socializing at the VFW. Curt always had a way of making people smile and laugh.
