Dr. Don Salmon passed into the arms of the Lord, Saturday, November 5th, 2016. Don was born January 16th, 1934 in Eclectic, Alabama. He spent his youth in Chattanooga, TN. He joined the Navy at 17 and served in the Korean War. He moved to Sioux Falls in 1963 and started his Medical career as a General Practitioner. In 1973, he did residency in anesthesia in San Diego, CA and practiced Anesthesiology for 27 years in Las Vegas, NV. In 1973, he also married his wife, Joanna, in Sioux Falls, SD. Don and Joanna moved back to Sioux Falls, SD in 2005 to be near Joanna's family due to Donald's ill health.

Don had many outside interests, besides sports, he was a team doctor for Amateur Boxing Association in Las Vegas, NV. He traveled around the US, Canada and even went to Turkey with the team. He also loved woodworking and could be found in his workshop every year making toys for underprivileged children. His greatest love and joy was playing the banjo and acting as Emcee for his wife's Dancing Diva's shows. He is survived by his wife, Joanna, six children, Brett Salmon (Glenda), Stephanie Maley (Mike), Don Salmon Jr., Todd Salmon, Sherri Richardson, and Michelle Cooper (Jim). He also had 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and will be missed by a large extended family.

Visitation will be at the Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 pm. The funeral will be Friday, November 11, 2016 at 11:00 am at Heritage Funeral Home in Sioux Falls, SD. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery following the service and luncheon.
