Florence W. Sturzenbecher

Florence Sturzenbecher, 81 died Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home, Viborg. Funeral services will be at 10:30am Monday, August 31, 2015 at Bethesda Lutheran Church, Marion with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, Marion. Visitation with family present will be from 2-4pm Sunday at the Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home, Parker with a Prayer Service at 2:00pm.

Florence Winona (Hansen) Sturzenbecher was born on September 18, 1933 at Volin to Clifford and Esther (Kamback) Hansen. She graduated from Irene High School and received her nursing degree from Sacred Heart College of Nursing, Yankton. On September 11, 1954 she was united in marriage to Rudy Sturzenbecher. She was a faithful and hardworking companion with Rudy on the farm. Mom served many years at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Marion serving in many and various roles. She started her second career as an RN serving the elderly for 22 years in Freeman, Parker and Viborg nursing homes. After retiring from nursing, Mom and Dad served 5 years with Laborer's for Christ, traveling the country building churches.

She is survived by her loving husband Rudy, her three children Dean and Judy (Wollmann) Sturzenbecher, Parker, Randy and Vonda (Berg) Sturzenbecher, Black Hawk, and LeAnn (Sturzenbecher) and Clayton Kaufman, Marion. Six grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; a sister, Cecila (Hansen) Kvam and her husband Bruce.
