Sioux Falls - Garry Larsen, 77, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Avera Dougherty Hospice House.

Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, November 5, 2016 at George Boom Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Sioux Falls. Family present visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 PM Friday, November 4 at the funeral home.

Garry Larsen was born to Oscar and Helen (Boldt) on January 28, 1939 in Marion, South Dakota. He received his early education at Marion Public. At the age of 12 his family moved to Sioux Falls, and Garry graduated from Washington High School in 1957.

Garry was united in marriage with Elaine Renken on June 1, 1964 in Reading, Minnesota. Together they raised their two daughters.

Garry worked at Metz Baking for 17 years before starting his own business in vending machines in 1978. He had a passion for collecting coins and antique toys. He enjoyed being outdoors and doing lawn work but also watching Television. Most importantly he loved spending time with his family and especially his grandkids. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend that will be greatly missed by all.

Garry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elaine Larsen, Sioux Falls, SD; daughters, Laurie (Harvey) Shumaker, Rochester, MN, Melissa Larsen, Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren, Connor, Lindsey, Lexi and Lily Shumaker; brothers, Jim (Mary) Larsen and Russ Larsen; sister, Susan De Chavez- Larsen, all of Sioux Falls, SD; uncle, Bob Boldt, Sioux Falls, SD; mother-in-law, Viola Renken; sister-in-laws, Charlotte (Richard) Hartzler, Wanda Renken; brother-in-law, Richard (Linda) Renken, all of Worthington, MN, and sister-in-law, LuBertha (Kerm) Klitzke, Sioux Falls, SD, many more nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Garry was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Raymond Renken; sister-in-law, Judy Larsen and brother-in-laws, Jorge De Chavez and Roger Renken. www.georgeboom.com
