Hazel Scoular Obituary
Hazel Scoular

The blessing to our family was Hazel Scoular, 90, who passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2015. Hazel was companionate, loving, and an amazing woman filled with the love of the Lord. Her love was so apparent to us in many ways until God took her into his graces.

Hazel Ethel Scoular was born August 27, 1925 to Ole and Edna Johnson on the farm in Hills, Minnesota. Hazel was one of 4 children. Growing up in Sioux Falls, SD, and graduating from Washington High School, Hazel went on to briefly work and attend Sioux Falls College. In Wichita Falls, TX, Hazel met the love of her life - Ralph. Only nine days later, they would be married. Through their life journey the next 70+ years, Hazel and Ralph embarked on an envious journey. Hazel was the CEO of the family and an instrument of Ralph's success with Iseman Homes. Hazel always gushed when speaking of her sons Jim and Bill and was active in the church, PEO, Shrine Auxiliary, and Eastern Star; her hobbies included: weekends to Lake Campbell, bridge, knitting, and swimming. Hazel's influence on her grandchildren was profoundly loving. Hazel embraced family tradition; notably her Christmas Eve oyster stew.

Hazel is survived by her spouse Ralph, children Jim (Ann) Scoular, Bill (Ching) Scoular, grandchildren Jamie (Sarah) Scoular, Jeff (Libby) Scoular, Jennifer Bryant, Jacqui (Rob) Meadors, six great-grandchildren, one brother, Dr. Orlen (Jolene) Johnson, one sister (Norma Wehling). She was preceded in death by her parents, and her younger sister Mildred Slaughter.

Her funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation at Heritage Funeral Home will be on Sunday from noon to 4:00 p.m. with the family present from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
