Hermine Csordacsics Obituary
Hermine Csordacsics

Hermine "Mimi" Csordacsics, Sioux Falls, SD, died February 4, 2017, in Sioux Falls. She was 90 .

Hermine "Mimi" Maria (Kondert) Csordacsics was born on January 31, 1927, in Zepling, Romania in the territory of Transylvania. During World War II, at the age of 17, she and her family fled their home because of the Russian front moving toward their village. Her family transferred to many homes and barracks for the next few years, and settled in Austria. There, Mimi found work in a margarine factory.

Mimi met Kurt (a German soldier, who happened to also come from her home town area) after the war. They married in 1951 in Austria. Walter was born in 1952, and because jobs were hard to find they decided to move to Germany where Kurt worked in a coal mine. In 1956, looking for a better life, they opted to move to American where Anita was born in 1957.

Mimi loved to bake, enjoyed gardening, reading Martha Stewart magazines and watching the cooking channel. She was quiet, shy and loved to be around her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kurt Csordacsics. Grateful for sharing her life are her son, Walter Csordacsics and his wife, Carrie; daughter, Anita Braunschmidt and her husband, John; grandchildren, Dustin Csordacsics and wife Stacey, Eliott Csordacsics and wife Brandi, Jarrod Vink and wife Brenna, Sara Groth; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 Thursday at First Presbyterian Church. Visitation begins at 5:00pm Wednesday with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 Wednesday evening at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Avenue.
