James "Jim" Glenski, 85, died December 3rd, in Sioux Falls. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00am Monday, December 19th, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph, 504 N. Summit, Sioux Falls. The wake will be 3:00pm to 5:00pm on Sunday, December 18th, at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Ave, Sioux Falls with a prayer service at 3:30pm.

Jim was born June 11, 1931 in St. Joseph, MO. On June 9, 1956 he married Mary Rump in Burlington, IA. They moved to Sioux Falls in 1965 and were members of the Cathedral of St. Joseph for over 50 years.

Jim spent two years in the army, rising to the rank of Sergeant and was proud of his Korean War Peace medal. He worked for New York Life Insurance Co. as the office manager for the South Dakota regional office. Jim volunteered with the Boy Scouts and was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus.

Jim was a generous, patient, fun loving and courteous gentleman. A loving father who enjoyed traveling, gardening and volunteering to paint his neighbors houses. He enjoyed playing with his 21 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He is survived by Mary, his wife of 60 years, and their children Tim (Phoenix), Frank (Auckland, New Zealand), Joe (St. Paul, MN), Richard (Valparaíso, Chile), Bill (Yakima, WA), Patrick (Rochester, MN), James (Chicago), Ann Oettinger (Rochester, MN), and John (Cincinnati).

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Cathedral of Saint Joseph or the Sioux Falls Catholic Schools Foundation.
