Jeanette J. Aartun Obituary
Jeanette J. Aartun

Jeanette Aartun, Sioux Falls, SD, died December 14, 2016, at Sanford USD Medical Center. She was 73.

Jeanette Jean Raile was born November 15, 1943, at Hague, SD, to Rheinhold and Frieda (Opp) Raile. She was raised in North Dakota. In 1954, the family moved to Sioux Falls, SD, where Jeanette attended public school. Jeanette worked for Sioux Valley Hospital for a period of time.

On July 11, 1970, Jeanette married the love of her life, Orlin Aartun. The couple made their home in Sioux Falls, where she became a homemaker and loving mother.

Jeanette loved to decorate for the holidays, and at Christmastime would fill her home with the wonderful aroma of baked goods. A good cook, she liked to entertain and enjoyed hosting friends and family for social and holiday events. Jeanette was very creative. She enjoyed putting together floral arrangements and would often use the fresh flowers from her garden.

Fun-loving and filled with life, she enjoyed dancing and listening to music. In the center of her life was her family. She absolutely cherished her husband, children and all her relatives. Blessed with a warm sense of humor, Jeanette's loving and caring spirit will forever be treasured.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Orlin Aartun, Sioux Falls, SD; daughter, Michelle Aartun, Sioux Falls, SD; son, Mark Aartun, Nashville, TN; brother, Roger Raile of Sioux Falls, and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Leo and Melvin Raile; and a sister, Leona Johnson.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at Miller Funeral Home Westside Chapel, 6200 W. 41st Street. The visitation will begin at 2:00 Monday afternoon, with the family present to greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 Monday evening, December 26 at the Westside Chapel.
