Joel D. Waldner

Joel Daniel Waldner, 44, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away on September 23, 2016 due to injuries from a construction accident.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday at Church at the Gate, 6820 West 26th Street. A Wake service will be held 6:00 pm Monday at Miller Funeral Home, Westside Chapel.

Joel was born on March 5, 1972 in Huron, SD to Daniel and Mary Waldner of Wisconsin. Joel was united in marriage with Christy Waldner on June 18, 1994 in Sioux Falls. The couple were married for 22 years, and had two handsome boys, Josiah (11) and Jace (9). Joel's boys were his pride and joy. He loved taking them to church. He always reminded them how important it was to pray and talk to God. Joel worked as a construction framer and was always the best at whatever he did. He was very proud of his achievements. He enjoyed the outdoors. Deer and pheasant season were his favorite time of year. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, grilling, camping and hanging out with his family. Joel was a very generous person and had a heart of gold. He would give the shirt off his back if you would ask for it.

In addition to his wife and sons, he is also survived by his mother, Mary Waldner of Richland Center, WI; brother, Daniel (Kelly) Waldner of Sioux Falls; his sisters, Marilyn (Brent) Molldrem of Dodgeville, WI, Rita (Mike) Kleinsasser of Richland Center, WI, and Lena (Steve) Kauffman of Austin, South Carolina; and his brother, Brian (Jenny) Waldner of Richland Center, WI; along with many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other friends.

Joel was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Waldner; his grandparents and several uncles and aunts.
