Joyce M. Hansen Obituary
Joyce M. Hansen

Joyce was born in Staffordshire, England. As a teenage girl, during WWII, Joyce was a member of the English National Fire Service where she helped put out the fires of the Nazi Blitzkrieg. It was there she met and married the love of her life, "Hans" Hansen, a young GI from South Dakota. After the war and their marriage, they spent some time in Sioux Falls, SD. Later, they settled in Bellevue where Hans became Base Sargent Major at Offutt AFB. Joyce was employed by the Army and Air Force Exchange Service as a cashier, eventually becoming the regional personnel manager for AAFES. Hans preceded her in death in 1999 as did a granddaughter in 2012. Joyce is survived by a son, John (Janet) Hansen of Bellevue and a daughter Mary (Joe) Harvey of Baldwin City, KS. Joyce was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Joyce, along with Hans, will forever live in our memories and in eternity with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, September 30, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bellevue, followed by a 10:00 a.m. funeral service. Memorials may be directed Immanuel Lutheran church in Bellevue.
